Donald Gaines, Sr.

Donald Gaines Sr., was born on July 19, 1960 to Tommie "TC" and Mary Agnes Whitted Gaines in Butler, AL.

Donald accepted Christ at an early age in his life. he was a 1978 graduate of Choctaw County High School and joined the United States Army in 1981. His specialty was telecommunications. He married Juarakee Gaines and to this union resulted in one child, Ladonna Gaines. After departing the army, he joined the Department of Corrections where he worked for 25 years. In 2003, Donald remarried Tanya Henderson Gaines and to this union one child was born, Donald Gaines Jr. Donald also had. 

Donald was called home on March 7, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, TC and brothers Danny, Michael, and Tommy Gaines.

Donald leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Tonya Gaines; children, LaDonna Gaines and Donald Gaines Jr.; two step children that he loved as his own, Tiana and Darius Jordan; a strongly devoted mother, Mary Agnes Gaines; siblings, Cindy (Thaddeus) Carter, Lori (Ervin) Ryans, (twin brother) Ronald Gaines,  Christopher (Terri) Gaines, and Darryl (Mary Jane) Gaines; a numerous host of nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. He also leaves behind many friends among those, Tommy Belton, who kept him going and uplifted.
