Jimmy Sanders
Managing Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

For over 50 years, Jimmy Sanders has served families throughout Mobile County as a funeral director and embalmer. In 1973, he graduated from Bishop State Community College with his degree in Mortuary Science. As a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, Jimmy has become a well respected pillar in the community.
Jimmy’s love for the funeral service industry is evident by his many years of service. Over the years, he has received many awards and recognition. But his greatest accomplishment is his love for influencing the next generation. He spent many years as an instructor at Bishop State Community College for mortuary science students, while also working full time at local funeral homes. Over the years, Jimmy has mentored many apprentices, directors, embalmers, and even owners with his vast knowledge and wisdom. His impeccable reputation for his work as a funeral director and embalming skills and techniques has given peace to countless families over the totality of his career.
As the managing funeral director and embalmer at Community Mortuary, families can rest assured knowing they are in the hands of a seasoned funeral director and embalmer that will assist them in “celebrating moments, and honoring memories!”
Miriam Hall
President/Apprentice Funeral Director & Embalmer
Miriam Orso Hall serves as the President of Community Mortuary. As a native Mobilian, Miriam understands the value of investing in ones community.
She graduated from Daymar College with a degree in Business Administration and later became a well established business owner in Tennesee. With over 18 years of business and healthcare experience, Miriam has a spirit of service, compassion, and excellence. Her infectious smile, gentle spirit, and attention to detail helps assist families during their darkest hours.
Though she’s new to the Funeral Service industry, Miriam is dedicated to serving the families along the Gulf Coast with a modern, state-of-the-art, mortuary that focuses on “Celebrating Moments and Honoring Memories” at an affordable cost.
Since assuming the role of President, Miriam has transformed the facilities of Community Mortuary and has plans of additional expansion.
Currently, Miriam is an apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Alabama. In the Summer of 2020, Miriam will be enrolled in the Funeral Services Program at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, AL.
In her free time, Miriam enjoys spending time with her family, riding motorcycles, kayaking, sports, fashion, and dancing.
